Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP)

The Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) is one of the Canada’s pathway model for refugee labour mobility to allow refugees with their skills and qualifications to access existing economic immigration  pathways with some administrative facilitation measures to offset the circumstances of their displacement. This is just an expansion of EMPP which is the first stage of pilot. IRCC learnt that skilled refugees too can qualify for PR through the economic programs with some help.

 

The Purpose of this program

  • In order to make the immigration system more responsive to Canada’s economic needs and humanitarian commitments.
  • To assist the Canadian employers in hiring qualified refugees and other displaced people.
  • To solve specific labour shortages and to fill a wide range of in-demand jobs like in healthcare, Information Technology, Mechanical and Electric Engineers, Drivers, etc.

In the upcoming years, Canada will further expand and accept 2000 eligible refugees and other eligible people.

Eligibility

  • A proof of the current refugee situation with one of the IRCC approved organization or can get a letter from a  partner who can provide with a “trusted partner referral letter”.
  • A job offer letter from a Canadian Company or organization necessary if you apply under job offer stream. It doesn’t require job offer letter if applied under no job offer stream.
  • You must be eligible for one of economic immigration programs like the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Rural and Northern Immigration Program (RNIP).

The necessary requirement for the above program with certain exceptions should be fulfilled.
